Saltdean – oh…we do like to be beside the seaside.

A couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to have a trip down to Saltdean to visit an old friend.

It’s famous for this beautiful Lido. A few years ago there was a plan to fill in the pool, and turn the site into flats, but I’m glad to say that it’s going to be restored.

It’s a beautiful spot, and we enjoyed walking by the sea…

…watching the sunset…

…and the moon.

Port Ellen

We motored over to Port Ellen on Islay in very overcast conditions.

However it brightened up a bit later…
…which meant we could see where we were more moored, and have a wander round town.

I loved this garden – clearly the owner has a great sense of humour.

Islay v the Mainland…all of it?
We posted a few cards…
…and had a few drinks. One of the locals, Keith, bought us round after round of drinks. As it was his birthday, we really should have been buying for him, but he was faster at getting the barmaid’s attention!
Time to relax…
…and watch the sun go down…
…and maybe a bit of blogging!

An Evening in St Kilda

One evening we popped over to St Kilda to meet up with a hazard (that must be the collective noun) of golf course architects.

Nice place to sail a yacht.

We saw the ‘Spirit of Tasmania’ ferry leaving for Tasmania…

…two lovely hounds…

…and a beautiful sunset.

Technogarret Sunset

One of the nice things about having a camera on my mobile (that’s ‘cell’ to you colonials), is that I can snap a quick pic.

This was the view from the technogarret the other evening.
