British National Anthem

I am currently confined to the sofa watching the rugby. Which has had me thinking about national anthems. Isn’t it about time we got rid of that dreadful dirge – ‘God Save the Queen’? I nominate ‘Rule Britannia’ – it has a super tune, is up tempo, and is suitably jingoistic.

Plus, Little Grey Rabbit (written by Alison Uttley, illustrated by Margaret Tempest) sings Rule Britannia to show that she isn’t afraid! What a great song pedigree!
