America 2011 – Chicago 29th Floor

Thanks to the generosity of our friends Annie & Virginia…
…our accommodation in Chicago was…
…a 29th floor…
…condominium. The view was amazing during the day…
…but at night…
…it was…
…absolutely…
…A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Winter Light Night – Natural History & Pitt Rivers Museum

A real treat this evening…

Winter Light Night at the Natural History Museum and Pitt Rivers Museum.
I went with my lovely friend Jo, and her children Jack and ‘Cille.
The dinosaurs…

…were shown off to good effect…

…by the special lighting…
…which was very special.
We enjoyed the wind up torches…
…we used to explore the Pitt Rivers collection.
The lighting was fab here too…
…highlighting the beautiful roof.
People wandering around with torches looked like a cloud of fireflies.
The museum itself…
…looked like the skeleton of dinosaur.

Elfin Grot

One of my most unexpected presents this year was a set of spa lights. As you can see they are very atmospheric.

[Every since I read ‘La Belle Dame Sans Merci’, I’ve always wondered what an Elfin Grot looked like. It has to be something like this surely?]
