In Flanders Fields

It’s inevitable that if you leave the motorway that you’ll pass First World War cemetries. Like so many I studied First World War poetry, and the causes of the war at school. The sheer horror of it is still green with me.

It was good to see the graves in such good order.

In this cemetary there were also two German graves. It seemed right somehow that they were buried together with the British troops.

I’m not to proud to admit I cried.
